To the people in the OTW Tumblr Inbox asking about how the OTW is responding to the American Election.

This is a separate post (and not a response to a specific message) because we all need to see it.

Folks have been asking Support (through the form) as well as the other social media mods, and we have now been given the following to tell you.

We are continuing to closely monitor political developments that may affect AO3 and the OTW as a whole. First, we want to assure you that there are several factors that tend to protect AO3 and its users from legal risks and challenges. These include that we are a non-profit, do not host images, do not use algorithms to promote or advertise content to users, are not aimed at children, and collect very little user data. The results of the 2024 U.S. election are deeply concerning, but the OTW remains committed to providing an inclusive space for fannish expression and will continue to fight for fans' free expression, both in court and through legislative efforts, in the U.S. and worldwide. We have seen that fans are a powerful force for promoting free expression, and we will continue to inform people about opportunities for their voices to be heard. If a bill is likely to be passed in the future that could impact our ability to provide services, our legal team will be prepared to offer updates, guidance, and legal support to our users. Fans are not alone in this fight. Both the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) (https://www.aclu.org/news/civil-liberties/the-aclu-is-fighting-back-against-trump ) and the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) (https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2024/11/2024-us-election-over-eff-ready-whats-next ) made preparations for this outcome and have developed strategies to combat anticipated efforts to curtail online freedoms. We urge our users to support these organizations and others as they fight for your rights and ours.

A lot of folks ask me for help finding old QSMP VODs that are no longer on Twitch and/or YouTube, so I want to let people know about this very useful resource created by the MCYT Archivist community!

The QSMP Archive Project is dedicated to locating, collecting and archiving QSMP VODs to make them easily accessible to the community. Hundreds of VODs from every member are included in this spreadsheet, which is meticulously organized by month / day / streamer.

Due to the sheer amount of VODs that exist, MCYT-Archives is always looking for help fleshing out this and other server archives for Squidcraft, Arkanis, DSMP, and more.

Hey, it's Phil again. Just checking up on you. Have you eaten recently? Drank water or some sort of drink? Well, if you haven't, I hope you have or will soon! Just figured I'd send this in.

To Wilbur; Hey, Wil. I love you. So much. You're so good at music, and whatever you do now. Keep on singing. Sometimes, I catch myself humming a song or two that remind me of you. Make sure to take care of yourself and get some rest if needed. I miss running my fingers through your hair and giving you hugs, but here's a virtual hug through the screen just for you.

To Techno;

Techno :] I love you. So much. You're good at a lot of things, and if you're stressing yourself out over anything, just take a step back, mate. Take as many breaks as you need, and take time for yourself. Occasionally, I see something that reminds me of you in the store and can't help but get it. I have a small collection of crowns because of you.

To Tommy;

Thomas. Tommy. Toms. I love you so much. You're spunky, and loud, and I never want you to let go of that. Even if people here tell you you're annoying. Just be yourself. Pursue your dreams! [Even if you'd tell me that's an 'old man saying', it's true, hehe] Don't overwork yourself. Please. Take care of yourself. Also, I started a small collection of shiny gold things that remind me of you.

I love you all equally. So, so much. Be sure to take care of yourselves, you're all my beautiful children and I miss you all. I hope you all are having fun here. Please.

I miss having family time. Maybe one day...maybe...maybe one day, we could get together online and just play a game. Chess or something. Or Bingo. [and NO, it is not an old man game.]

Portrait Of James Barnes (c. 1938)

This is the first page of a sketchbook preserved by one of Cpt. Rogers' former neighbors. Most of the works in this book were produced in the years 1938-39, and it can be noted that the subject of Sgt. Barnes has been prolific in its pages. While Rogers seemed to have a habit of scribbling lists, budgeting and smaller unfinished sketches around most of his works, he has left a few pages to the sole occupancy of portraits like this one. It is evident that Cpt. Rogers held a deep fraternal affection for his then-roommate Sgt. Barnes. Having grown up together like brothers, there is a bond that we see in these pages that followed them into the very jaws of death in the battlefield.
